Homework Assignment

The homework assignment is available on Sharepoint in Homework folder (link).
Deadline for submission: Thursday, April 17 at 22:00.

The seminar sessions on April 17 (at 10:30 in VN201, and at 14:15 in D352) will take the form of individual consultations – you can ask about either the homework or your semestral project, as no new topic is scheduled.
Seminar at 17:30 is cancelled!
If you don’t have any questions or issues to consult, attendance at the seminar is not required.

Submitting GIS Projects in ArcGIS Pro – Important Instructions

When submitting your ArcGIS Pro project (for homework or assignments), please remember:
The .aprx file alone is not enough. It only contains links to your data, but not the data itself. Without the data (e.g., shapefiles, rasters, geodatabases), your project will not open properly and cannot be evaluated.

To submit your work correctly, please do one of the following:
Use Share > Project > Package Project (Save Package to File) in ArcGIS Pro. This creates a single .ppkx file containing the project and all referenced data.
Alternatively, zip the entire project folder (the folder where your .aprx file and all data are stored), and upload the .zip file.

Submissions without data will be considered incomplete and graded with 0 points.

If you're not sure how to export your project correctly, please first search for instructions online (e.g., "How to package a project in ArcGIS Pro") — there are many helpful tutorials and videos available. If the issue still isn’t clear after that, feel free to ask for help.

Retake Test

Students whose combined score from the test and homework is less than 6 points will have the opportunity to take a retake test on Thursday, April 24, during the lecture time (15:45). This is the final opportunity to meet the requirements for the credit.

To pass the retake test and obtain the pre-exam credit, you must score at least 6 out of 10 points.

Exam Information

Due to the public holidays on May 1 and May 8, the first exam date will take place on May 14 and 15.
Students are required to register for the exam via UIS.
The exam consists of two parts, both of which take place within the same exam session:

  • theoretical part (written test), and
  • practical part, which is the defense of the semester project.

During the practical part, each student will briefly present their approach, methods, and results. This presentation should not exceed 10 minutes, followed by approximately 5 minutes for additional questions and discussion.
If you worked on your project using your own laptop, you may bring it with you – this may speed up your presentation.

To successfully pass the exam and obtain the credits, you must pass both parts.
