The aim of this course is to give a brief overview about the integration
phenomenon and its legal framework from both International law and EU
law perspectives. This inter-disciplinary course will entail historic,
as well as current, international and EU issues, including critical
challenges encountered by various institutions and organs. Particular
attention will be focused on key legal documents, on settings and
enforcement of politics, and on the participation of courts and
tribunals in these processes. At the end of the course there will be a
closed book written exam (a multi-choice test) and a short oral exam for
which both credit and a grade will be awarded. In order to be allowed
to sit for the exam, the students must successfully complete the
assignment – a small research project regarding current integration
issues.
