After completing the course, students will have a good knowledge of the legal framework of international trade, given at the international level by the law of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the agreements connected with its functioning (GATT, GATS, TRIPS), at the level of international commercial transactions by the CISG convention and the legal regulation of decision-making international commercial disputes (New York Convention, 1958). A related adjustment is the basics of private international law, especially the conflict of laws issue. By graduating, the student will acquire in particular − good knowledge of the structure, functioning and decision-making procedures within the WTO − detailed knowledge of selected areas of regulation of GATT, GATS and TRIPS − knowledge of the dispute resolution system within the World Trade Organization, including its system of sanctions − knowledge of the legal regulation of international trade transactions (MOT) at the level of direct and conflict of laws regulation − knowledge of the legal regulation of out-of-court dispute resolution from MOT.
